Logio FAQ

If I forget my master passcode, or if I want to delete all my records, can I just reset my Logio?

Are there any “back door” ways for Atek to get into my Logio and see my data?

Why does it sometimes take a few seconds to save edited or new records or to search for records?

One or more records are missing. What happened to the record(s)?

What should I do if my Logio gets stuck (“hangs”, “locks up”)?

Is there a way to back up my records or create a duplicate Logio with the same records?

What should I do if my display is dim?

I don’t see anything on the display, and I’ve already tried adjusting the screen contrast and changing the battery. What else might be the problem?

Is the master passcode numbers, letters, or both?

Does the Logio automatically capitalize the first letter of a word?

Why is the second line of the lost & found information not just numeric only?

Why can’t I hear the button tones?

What is the purpose of the little extra piece of nylon filament that is taped to the lanyard quick release buckle?

Why doesn’t the Logio connect to my computer? Wouldn’t that be more convenient?

Do I have to hold down the a/A “shift” button for it to work?

If I forget my master passcode, or if I want to delete all my records, can I just reset my Logio?
Your Logio does not have a reset button because we do not want you to accidentally reset it and lose all your data and because we do not want the finder of a lost Logio to be able to use it and therefore have less incentive to return it to its owner. However, you can delete as many individual records as you want to, one at at time.

Are there any “back door” ways for Atek to get into my Logio and see my data?
Not only would we not want to do that, but also we cannot. Even though we know the security architecture of the product, your master passcode protects your data. Your data is encrypted and we have no way to decrypt it.

Why does it sometimes take a few seconds to save edited or new records or to search for records?
Logio uses sophisticated encryption algorithms to protect your data. The more records you have, the more processing effort it takes to do these encryption operations. The screen will display the message “Please wait…” while processing.

One or more records are missing. What happened to the record(s)?
Perhaps you did not properly save the record or you accidentally deleted it. Another possibility is that there was a memory writing error in the Logio hardware. If such an error is detected, the record is skipped and will no longer display and you will need to recreate it. Such errors should be extremely rare.

What should I do if my Logio gets stuck (“hangs”, “locks up”)?
With all electronic devices, electrostatic discharges and unexpected input could cause lockups. Although this should be a rare occurrence, if this happens with your Logio (and we would appreciate you reporting the details of the situation to our technical support department if it does), you can remove the battery and then put it back in and that should in most circumstances resolve the problem. Note that data loss or corruption can also result from such lockups -- read the next FAQ topic for information about backup records.

Is there a way to back up my records or create a duplicate Logio with the same records?
Logio was not designed with the ability to interface with a computer because many people prefer to have a self-contained device for storing their passwords. If you are concerned about the possibility of losing your Logio, you could buy a second Logio and enter the same records into that one, or you could store a paper list of your passwords in a secure place such as a safe deposit box.

What should I do if my display is dim?
First try adjusting the screen contrast by either pushing and holding (without releasing) the a/A button and pushing the right arrow button multiple times or by doing it through the setting in the Opt menu. If that does not work, try installing a new 2016 coin cell battery.

I don’t see anything on the display, and I’ve already tried adjusting the screen contrast and changing the battery. What else might be the problem?
There might be a battery contact issue. You can verify that by squeezing the organizer with your thumb and finger where the Logio logo is located. If you only see the display when you squeeze the battery compartment, then it's a battery contact issue. To fix that, you can gently peel off the rectangular label on the back of the organizer and then with an eyeglasses type Philips screwdriver remove the four screws securing the metal plate. You'll then see a bent metal pin that makes contact with the battery. Bend the pin a little more so that when you put the cover back on, it pushes down the contact pin more firmly against the battery.

Is the master passcode numbers, letters, or both?
The master passcode is numeric only, so “multi-tap” is disabled for the master passcode (for example, in the master passcode screen, push the ABC2 button one time to get a 2 instead of four times).

Does the Logio automatically capitalize the first letter of a word?
The first letter of the first and last name you optionally enter into the lost & found screen automatically capitalizes, but in the rest of the Logio you need to push and hold the a/A (“shift”) button in order to get an uppercase letter.

Why is the second line of the lost & found information not just numeric only?
Although we indicate the second line is for a phone number, some people might like to enter something else there instead, such as an email address.

Why can’t I hear the button tones?
The button tones are a fairly high frequency, so if your hearing is moderately impaired you might have trouble hearing the tones.

What is the purpose of the little extra piece of nylon filament that is taped to the lanyard quick release buckle?
As described in the lanyard installation instructions, the extra piece of filament is to hook the lanyard loop and pull it through the hole in the corner of the Logio.

Why doesn’t the Logio connect to my computer? Wouldn’t that be more convenient?
The Logio was designed to be fully insulated from computers and the internet so there would be no risk of computer malware (viruses, trojans, spyware, etc.) compromising your personal information. After all, just when we think our computers are safe, we hear about yet another security flaw.

Do I have to hold down the a/A “shift” button for it to work?
Yes, it is only active when you are pushing it down and it de-activates as soon as you release it.
